Community Food Assessment Program

Current Community Food Assessment Project Descriptions:

African Americans Building a Legacy of Health, Reach 2010
Community Health Councils conducted a series of community-based assessments of South Los Angeles neighborhood markets, restaurants and schools. Community members are involved in the projects through a mini-grant process and community meetings. These assessments are documenting existing resources, and will be used in resource development strategies to support healthy food choices. They are part of a collaborative campaign funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reduce cardiovascular disease and diabetes disparities in African American communities.
