FOOD
All meals will showcase locally grown foods, obtained from
local farmers and suppliers. Tuesday lunch is on your own
to allow you the opportunity to taste the local cuisine from
Santa Fe's renown restaurants.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Conference fees include Sunday reception, breakfast, lunch,
and snacks Monday, and breakfast and snacks on Tuesday, as
well as all conference materials. Albuquerque and Santa Fe
field trips include transportation and lunch; two day field
trip includes all lunch and dinner Saturday, lodging Saturday
night, Sunday breakfast and lunch.
MEETING SITE
The conference will be held at the historic La Fonda Inn,
situated right on the main square in downtown Santa Fe. It
is a vibrant landmark known for its award-winning pueblo-style
Spanish architecture and decor. It is a showcase of the work
of local artisans. Each room is uniquely decorated with hand-painted
wood furniture.
ACCOMODATIONS
Rooms are available at La Fonda Hotel Sunday through Tuesday
nights at the price of $90/single, $100/double. The number
of rooms offered at this rate is limited and available on
a first-come, first-serve basis. To guarantee your hotel accomodations
at this rate, contact La Fonda by Friday September 29. Call

2) Luxury

or Santa Fe Farmers Market. Ask for Pauline. Not walkable
to la Fonda, but there's a bus. $45 single, $55 double 2 beds.
3) International
Youth Hostel. 505-983-1153. 1416 Cerrillos Rd. Long walk to
La Fonda or take the bus. Dorm style: $15/person; Private
rooms $23-33. Add $10/person.
There
are multiple chain motels on Cerrillos Rd, many of which are
a few miles out of town. Call your favorite motel's 800 number
for more information.
For those
people flying into Albuquerque on Friday, 10/27 or Saturday,
10/28, we have arranged for a block of rooms to be reserved
at the Comfort Inn, one block from the Albuquerque airport.
The rate is $45 per room for up to four persons. There is a
free shuttle from the airport. Call 505-243-2244 to make your
reservation by October 1st to get this rate. Be sure to mention
Community Food Security Coalition when making your reservation.

on camping and other low cost accomodations can be obtained
by calling our office.
GETTING TO SANTA FE
Southwest Airlines is offering a 10% discount on most of its
already low fares for air travel to and from the conference.
Please call Southwest Group Reservations at 800-433-5368 and
reference the ID code "A6421". You must make your
reservation five or more days prior to travel to take advantage
of this offer.
For non-Southwest
flights, All Seasons Travel is particular skilled in finding
low fares. Their number is 831-426-2350.
Santa Fe
is located approximately 90 minutes from the Albuquerque airport.
Shuttle service is available on a walk-up basis for $25.
PRICE
The registration fees for the conference is $150. Short courses
are $35. The Santa Fe field trip is $35, and the Albuquerque
tour is $40. The Northern New Mexico trip is $155. A late fee
of $30 will be charged for registrations received after September
29. CFSC non-members add $25, which includes a one year membership.
REFUNDS
No refunds will be given for cancellations received after October
21. For cancellations received between October 6-October 20,
50% of the registration fees will be returned. Before October
6, full refunds will be given. All refunds will be assessed
a $25 handling fee.
SCHOLARSHIPS
We have limited funds available for scholarships. First priority
will be given to low-income community members and farmers engaged
in community food security projects. We can cover registration
fees and two nights lodging in a double room. Lower priority
will be given to staff of organizations with limited resources,
students, and other interested parties. For these individuals,
only partial or full fee waivers may be available. Please call
our office for more information. All scholarship requests MUST
be received by September 30. No exceptions.
